As of Sept. 2015, The Cabinet lost significant funding from the school and no longer produces a print edition — all content is published online. The Cabinet produces content throughout each week of the academic year. Content ranges from on-campus news stories to community features to opinion editorials to sports.
As a student-run publication, the majority of our staff writers are students enrolled in the newspaper course (ENG 221). Although those students produce the bulk of our content, we always encourage the Geneva College student body to submit both story ideas as well as opinion editorials to be considered for publication. Each submission is reviewed by the editor in chief and other staff editors.
At The Cabinet, we strive to produce objective news pieces that will allow readers to unlock the truth regarding various issues. We also hope to be an outlet for the many unheard student voices at Geneva College.
Questions about the publication? Email the editor in chief at firstname.lastname@example.org.
